OUR MISSION
To equip families with the tools they need to become self-sufficient members of the community.
OUR VISION
Strong families today for a stronger community tomorrow.

In 1972, a group of concerned citizens founded Community Family Centers (CFC) to provide community-based social and educational services to low-income families in Houston’s Greater East End. CFC, formerly Chicano Family Center, serves low-income families within Houston’s impoverished Greater East End. CFC is an agency with a $2.7 million annual operating budget, 48 staff members, and more than 500 volunteers, who serve over 40,000 clients each year. CFC works towards its mission by providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to excel and adults to learn, strengthening community partnerships, and promoting cultural understanding and community empowerment. CFC became a United Way agency in 1978, and in 1998 purchased its main facility – a 32,000 square foot building in the heart of the East End barrio.  In December 2004, CFC began an extensive capacity building campaign to ensure the agency’s long-term growth and service to the community. Phase I of the project, construction of the J.P. McGovern, M.D. Sports and Recreational Facility was completed in 2011. In 2015, the Los Niños Montessori Program moved to CFC’s main campus to a newly renovated 7,000 square feet of space.  A soccer field for youth 10 and under will be completed in early 2016.
